Memorial Sports Center Heat It Up Campaign

This campaign will raise $350,000 to fund the completion of Middlebury’s Memorial Sports Center, adding accessible public restrooms and an elevator for access to a new family-friendly heated viewing area with expanded cafe and seating. To date the campaign has raised over $260,000 in donations from local families and business and has been boosted by a major gift from Kraft Foods in recognition of Middlebury being a finalist for Kraft Hockeyville 2018.

This 6,000 square foot addition will allow us to better host events year-round. The facility is not just for hockey; it serves the Middlebury and surrounding communities by providing activities like public skating, private parties, graduation and awards ceremonies, trade shows, and camps.

Contributions for this project can be pledged over 2 years (or a single contribution) and are fully tax deductible. We are a 501(c)(3) corporation. You can fill out a pledge card (below) and make checks payable to Friends of Middlebury Hockey, Inc. or you can donate securely via PayPal.

Hockey Fights Hunger

The MUHS Varsity Hockey Teams will be providing essential food items to the local food shelf during the entire 2018-2019 season. At the end of each week throughout the season, each player will bring 1-2 food items to the rink to be collected and then transported to the local food shelf on Saturday mornings. Our goal is 100% participation from all high school players from late November until early March.

Both teams respectfully invite you to participate in our HOCKEY FIGHTS HUNGER initiative - collection containers are in the rink!

Middlebury’s Try Hockey for Free day was a wonderful experience for the players and coaches who came out to Memorial Sports Center on March 3rd, 2018. The event attracted 36 registered children from the Addison County area between the ages of 4 and 8. Coaches from the Middlebury Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) and volunteer coaches led the kids through basic hockey drills focused on skating, puck handling, and safe play on the ice.

Try Hockey for Free is a great way to give families who are considering hockey the chance to give the sport a try, and we hope that we’ll see many of these awesome kids again next season in MAHA’s Learn to Play and Mite programs.
