Early Registration for 2024-2025 Season

Happy spring, hockey families!

While you are getting ready for spring sports, your MAHA board members are thinking up the 2024-2025 season. We invite you to register early. Knowing who will play next year will help us determine how many teams we will send into competition, how much ice to rent, etc.

What’s in it for you? If you register by April 30th, you will save $50 on your season fees and receive a MAHA t-shirt.

Check out the registration for more information. And please reach out to us via registrar@middhockey.com with any questions.

With our best wishes for a fun spring season,

Your friends at MAHA

Neck Guard Policy

On behalf of the MAHA board, effective immediately all MAHA players are required to wear a neck guard during all practices and games. Coaches will ask players to go back to the locker room and get their neck guard if they show up on the ice with out it. Neck guards are a simple way to prevent a potentially life-threatening injury. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to MAHA's Player Safety Coordinator, Krysta Laroche, vsaha@middhockey.com,  or any other board member.

If you are unsure what a neck guard is or where to buy them, we have listed a few options below. Most hockey retailers have them, as well as Play It Again Sports (Blue Mall in South Burlington) and Kevin Smith Sports (Williston Road in South Burlington).

Simple neck guard: Amazon.com : Shock Doctor Ultra 2.0 Neck Guard Black Junior : Sports & Outdoors

Compression shirt with built in neck guard: CCM Neck Guard Long Sleeve Baselayer Top - Youth | Pure Hockey Equipment

If you are curious why this is now becoming a requirement, attached is the link to a recent NPR article about the recent death of a former Pittsburgh Penguins player died after being cut in the neck by a skate. Demand for neck guards soars after hockey player's death : NPR

Happy, safe skating!
